Landscape Silk Painting Art

Sale price$232.00 Regular price$290.00

In this painting, the mountain rocks are first outlined, and the shaded areas are colored to depict their forms. Darker shades are slightly enhanced with ink. The painting is created through multiple layers of color application, with each layer applied thinly and transparently. The same technique is employed for painting trees. The style bears a strong resemblance to the legacy of the Tang Dynasty, making it a masterpiece of primitive simplicity among Song Dynasty landscapes. As dynasties rose and fell, the style and appearance of landscape paintings underwent significant transformations. The most prominent feature of this change is the variation from the grand panoramic composition to the ethereal and elegant corner composition in Song Dynasty landscape paintings. This stylistic evolution is often interpreted by later generations as painters expressing their sorrow for their lost homeland through the "remnant mountains and waters" in their paintings, and even more so as a means to advise the emperor against settling in a corner and neglecting the larger world.

This is an original Asian silk painting art, not a print, that was produced in the 1980s and 1990s by painters from Suzhou, China. Using silk as their canvas, the artists skillfully captured the Song dynasty style of Chinese watercolor paintings.

Because these paintings are all handicrafts, works with the same theme may have different layout and colors. Also because of limitations in imaging and photography equipment, the image may have subtle color differences from the actual product.
